SRX18694082: RNASeq of Karenia papilionacea
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2500) run: 124.6M spots, 37.4G bases, 19Gb downloads

Design: Poly-A libraries were prepared with the Illumina Stranded mRNA Library Prep Kit LT. Next, 150 bp short reads were sequenced with the llumina HiSeq 2500 Rapid Run flow cell (v1), using Illumina Real Time Analysis software v 1.17.21.3 for base calling.

Study: De novo transcriptome assembly data for the marine toxic dinoflagellate genus Karenia
show Abstracthide Abstract
The dinoflagellate genus Karenia includes 10 known species and 9 are reported to be harmful algal species (https://www.marinespecies.org/hab/). In the Gulf of Mexico, at least 6 species are known. Of most concern is K. brevis, which produces brevetoxins that cause neurotoxic shellfish poisoning (NSP). Consumption of toxin-containing shellfish has a significant impact on human health. In this project, de novo reference transcriptomes were generated for four Karenia species: K. brevis, K. mikimotoi, K. papilionacea, K. selliformis). These de novo transcriptomes will serve as reference for field and laboratory experiments.
